About Rapid Intelligence
Rapid Intelligence Pty Ltd is the brainchild of Luke Metcalfe, a web publisher and web mining expert based in Sydney, Australia. Our flagship site NationMaster was launched in January 2003. At that time, it was a collection of around two hundred statistics together with the tools to graph and compare them, compiled and built by Luke himself. By 2004 NationMaster had grown to become the world's largest online database of statistical comparisons between countries, and had attracted enthusiastic reviews from such sources as CNN, The New York Times, and the BBC.
Global Reach
Our international focus makes us well suited to the new global economy. From its humble beginnings in Sydney, Australia, Rapid Intelligence has grown to employ staff in Asia, Europe, and both North and Central America. The professionals who make up our team are drawn from areas as diverse as economics, literature, and linguistics as well as information technology. Our second major site, FactBites - a search engine/encyclopedia hybrid - has become a recognised alternative to Google for encyclopedia-style searches, gaining favourable mentions in BusinessWeek and SearchEngineJournal.
Today
Rapid Intelligence continues to grow and develop. As our name suggests, we value responsiveness and adaptability as the keys to success in a changing technological environment. We employ intelligent and versatile IT professionals from a wide range of cultural backgrounds, whilst approaching business with an informal and personal attitude reflective of our Australian origins.
